The time controls will be as follows:
1. KG, 1-3 Unrated, 1-3 Novice (u500), 1-3 Jr. Varsity (u800), 4-6 Unrated, 4-6 Novice (u600): G/30 (each player gets 30 mins.)

2. 1-3 Varsity/Championship, 4-6 Jr. Varsity (u900): G/60 (each player gets 60 minutes)

3. 4-5 Varsity/Championship, 7-8 Jr. Varsity (u900), 9-12 Jr. Varsity (u1000): G/75 (each player gets 75 minutes)

4. 4-6 Varsity/Championship, 7-8 Varsity/Championship, 9-12 Varsity/Championship: G/90 (Each player gets 90 minutes)

Players can move up to a higher grade and/or rating division--never down!
Unrated and u600 players in grades K-3 can play in two tournaments on Saturday and Sunday (1-3 unrated/u500/u800 and K-6 unrated/u600, respectively).
Unrated players can only play in unrated, Junior Varsity, or in the Varsity section (and not in the novice section).
Players in grades 1-3 who are rated under 500 can play in 1-3 u500, 1-3 u800, or 1-3 Varsity (but not 1-3 unrated)..
Players in grades 4-6 who are rated under 600 can play in K-6 u600, K-6 u900, or 4-6/4-5 Varsity (but not 4-6 unrated).

We will run the tournament according to the USCF Rule Book and the modifications codified in 2007 for our scholastic competition (see below). Please check the FAQs online at FAQS.php for any other information and special rules that will apply to this event..

BLITZ (5 min. chess): Fri 5/16 6-8:30 pm. Late registration on Fri. 5/16 5-5:30 pm. (Fri) Arrive by 5:45pm.

Entry Fee: Before 2/17: $10 | 2/18-5/14: $12 | Onsite: $15.

BUGHOUSE (team chess): Sat 5/17 7:45-9:45pm. Late registration on Sat. 5/17 6:15-7:15 pm. (Sat) Arrive by 7:30pm.
