This IS the official State Championship! Highest placed Northern California resident(s) in each Varsity Section will be crowned State Champions.

Side Events
Friends & Family on Saturday: Check in at chess control by 10am. 4 games starting at 10:45am. Non-rated section ends at 1:30pm with G/15 (each players gets 15 minutes/game). Rated section ends at 4:30pm with G/30.
2. Blitz (5 min. each player) on Friday: 6:30-8:30pm (K-3 & 4-6), 6:30-9 pm (7-8 & 9-12). Late registration 5:45-6:00 pm. See rules
3. Bughouse (team chess) on Saturday: 6:30-8:30 pm (K-3 & 4-6) or 6:30-9 pm (7-8 & 9-12). Late registration 5:45-6:00 pm. See rules.

Friends & Family Section
Any friend or relative of the player is eligible to participate.
1. Family & Friends play four games and their scores are added to their players to determine trophies and awards.
2. Trophies to the following combination for highest total score of the player with his/her:
a. Father
b. Mother
c. Brother
d. Sister
e. Cousin
f. Grandparent
g. Uncle
h. Aunt. 3. Honorable mention to any relative combination with 2/3rd or more of total combined points. 4. 4 rounds, no knockouts.
5. Rated section: Each game is G/30.
6. Unrated section: Each game is G/10 (ea. player gets 10 mins.). See schedule
