Higher Varsity section cutoffs: K-3V is 800, 4-5V is 900, 4-6V is 900, 7-8V is 900, and 9-12V is 1200. 7. Simultaneous Adult tournament for parents, family, friends section: Rated and Unrated... combined prizes with related players. 8. Expanded two tournament specials: K-3 players (unrated or rated < 800) and 4-6 players (unrated or rated <600) may choose to play in a second section on Sunday. 9. Rating Supplement used: All sections will use the April supplement for ratings. 10. Denker Qualifier & Regional Championship: Since the CalChess State Scholastic Championship coincides with the High School National Championship, CalChess will hold another tournament under State Championship conditions and rules to determine the Denker representative (but not HS State Champions). This Denker Qualifier is on the same weekend and place as the CalChess Regional Championship.
