1. Site: Santa Clara Convention Center at 5001 Great America Parkway but we will move to Exbibit Hall A for the parents area and non-Championship sections and Great America Rooms 1-3 for the Championship sections. 2. Regional Championship: The Regional Championship is a practice tournament on the same venue to get players and parents acclimated to the playing conditions on March 5-6, 2011. See details here. 3. Kindergarten & 1-3 non-Championship Section: These sections do not require USCF Membership this year. 4. Rating Supplement used: All sections will use the April 2011 supplement for ratings. 5. Slightly Different Championship section cutoffs: K-3V is 800, 4-5V is 900, 4-6V is 900, 7-8V is 1000, and 9-12V is 1000. The 7-8 sections have been renamed 6-8 sections to accomodate Middle Schools starting at 6th grade. 6. Expanded two tournament specials: K-3 players (unrated or rated < 800) and 4-6 players (unrated or rated <600) may choose to play in a second section on the other day. 7. Electronic Recording Devices: Monrois are the only allowed electronic recording device allowed. All other electronic devices (iPhones, iPods, PDAs, etc.) are not allowed. 8. Flyers/Advertising: In order to cover the cost of printing the program, flyers and advertising will only be allowed by organizations that sponsor the event or advertise in the program. 9. Hotel (Same): Hyatt Regency Hotel is connected to the convention center at 5101 Great America Parkway. 10. T-shirts: Lower price on Limited edition colored tournament logo commemorative T-shirts offer choice of colors and options. Pre-paid $15; onsite $20 (limited onsite availability). 11. Trophies: Top 20 players in each section (winning record required), Top 40 in 1-3 Rookie, and all players in KG section.
