Success Chess School once again has agreed to offer the CalNorth Youth Chess Scholarship Fund (not affiliated with CalChess) to provide a limited number of financial aid awards for entry into the CalChess State Scholastic Championships based on need and merit of the chess player. The Financial Aid Committee will consist of Alan Kirshner, Ph.D., Bela Evans, and Salman Azhar, Ph.D.

We are looking for sponsorships in other forms as well. Please see sponsors.php for information on personal and corporate sponsorships. The distribution of the money will be decided by a representative from the sponsoring organization and the Chief Organizer.

To apply for a scholarship, you need to
1. Send to Salman Azhar, Ph.D. via email (salman~bayareachess.com) or via mail to (CalChess States 2008, 1551 Garvey Place, CA 95132) a letter from your principal or some other proof that you are on the school free lunch program. 
OR
2. For those who believe they lack resources to attend the States and are not on the free school lunch program, please send along with your application a copy of your parents, parent (if single parent family) or your guardian's most recent payroll stub.

3. Coaches, if you believe you have a number of children who need financial aid, please email Salman to see what arrangements can be made.
