Warm welcome to State Scholastic Championship 2008!The CalChess State Scholastic Championship will be held from May 1-18, 2008 in San Jose Convention Center. You can use this website to find out more information (such as FAQs.php and hotel information) as well as to register. You may start by getting the basic information about the event, find out about entry fees, and check entries using the hyperlinks (or from the main navigation bar above).

Please note that the section name indicate the minimum section grade. All players can play in a higher rating group or a higher age group but not vice versa.
We have commitments from the best Tournament Directors but need more volunteers to help make this event a success. This year we are featuring more prizes than every before. You can see the complete list here.
We also need your help to offset the increasing cost of running this tournament please refer any sponsors to us. Sponsorship information is available on this website and I will be happy to meet and talk to prospective sponsors for what we can do in return. We will use this money to offset the cost and also provide aid for players who can't afford the entry fees.
